Senior Electronics Engineer – DO-254 / Aerospace Hardware – Hybrid (Bristol)
We’re looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to take technical ownership of the development and certification of complex electronic hardware for aerospace and high-integrity applications.
This is a senior, hands-on position combining electronic system architecture and hardware development with technical leadership. You’ll work across the full DO-254 lifecycle, developing electronic controllers for electromechanical systems while collaborating closely with systems, safety, mechanical and software engineering teams.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Strong electronic hardware development experience within aerospace or other high-integrity systems
- Experience working to DO-254
- Electronic system architecture, design and specification experience
- Hardware requirements definition and requirements-driven development
- Experience taking electronic products through verification, validation and certification
- Understanding of DO-160 environmental qualification
- Experience developing complex electronic controllers
- Ability to lead technical work packages and provide technical guidance to engineering teams
Desirable:
- Power electronics and motor drive design
- DO-254 planning activities and SOI audits
- FPGA-based systems
- Communications interface electronics
- Electromechanical sensors including LVDTs, RVDTs or encoders
- MATLAB / Simulink and Model-Based Design
- Altium 365, LabVIEW, Speedgoat or similar engineering toolsets
